Description
“Branding At The Sixes” (18” x 24” original oil on canvas) is a depiction of the time of the year that is the favorite for many cowboys, i.e. branding time. Here you see the steady hand of the roper and his grey horse, while the cowboys wrestle the calf down, for the awaiting cowboys who brand, vaccinate, etc. the spring calves. This painting came from time spent at the 6666 Ranch at Guthrie, Texas, which has been a highlight for me each spring, as I tell Peggy I’m headed out for “Branding At The Sixes”…
