Description
“Hard Workin’” (36” x 48” original oil on canvas) is a rendering of one of my favorite places on the planet, the legendary 6666 ranch at Guthrie, Texas. Here you see the real life authenticity of the dust blowing behind the young calf being brought to the fire for branding, vaccination, etc., amidst the working cowboys. The trail boss / foreman is riding “Honky Tonk”, as he ropes and heels the unsuspecting calves for this important work. Until you have spent a day or two in their shoes, it’s hard to understand the rigor and sweat these cowboys do every single day, and truly demonstrate an attitude and effort of “Hard Workin”…
