Cowboys ride a different horse each day in this part of Texas, as early mornings, and long days and roundups, along with long rides back to camp exerts a significant amount of effort and energy on the loyal horse that they ride. Therefore each cowboy usually has from 4 or 5 horses in the remuda (group of horses) to mount them, afresh each day during the course of the weeks work and branding.
